All about me!

My name is Jemma. I live in Brisbane, Queensland and am about to move to the Gold Coast for a teaching position in a Catholic Primary school. I completed my degree just over a month ago, and my graduation is this Friday, 14th of December.

I studied a Bachelor of Education, majoring in Early Childhood. I have been blessed with fabulous field expereinces throughout uni, connecting me with amazing mentor teachers who have guided, supported, inspired and encouraged me to explore what teaching is all about throughout my degree.

My first class will be a Year One class which I am very excited about. I’ve not taught Year One yet, however have taught Prep so am aware of where the children are coming from.

I am the oldest of three girls and my sisters and I are incredibly close. My partner supports me to no end with any school work that I may have to do. He is always a great shoulder to cry on or a wonderful sounding board. I am incredibly close with my Mother. She too supports me to no end and lets me blubbler on her shoudler and laugh as loud as I need.

Share a little bit about yourself with me!

Jemma

Hi Jemma 🙂 As you know, but other readers don’t, we met when you were on a prac at my daughter’s daycare and I was immediately struck by your enthusiasm and engagement with the children. It’s every parent’s dream to have such a wonderful teacher for their kids, and I’m sure you’ll make a positive lasting impact on so many lives. Great to be able to read some of your experiences through this blog! Renee

      Hi Renee,

Your words are so kind. I have to say though, it is every teacher’s dream to meet a parent who is so interested in their child’s learning and development! While parents and teachers have the one common goal, to ensure children are happy, healthy and learning, it is so magical when you meet a parent, like you, who is so enthusiastic about their child’s learning.

Thanks for your support all this time.
      Jemma
